Every season bring a different experience, can be very crowded in their summer.

One of the 7 wonders. A must visit site. Watch out for the uneven and steep stairs. Lots of look out points during the trek up. Not reccomended if you are afraid of heights. The stairs can get quite steep.

Seeing the Great Wall and China is a must.

I enjoyed the Mayan ruins.

Amazing!!!!!! Spend the extra $$$ and get a Mayan guide! The wealth of information that they share with you cannot be replaced by simply walking around. These people are very proud of their culture and history and they give you a clear understanding of what life may have been like.

The place is huge and would take at least one whole day to thoroughly visit. There is so much information for each point of interest and it is highly recommended to have an experienced guide with you

I decided to spend a little extra money and booked the Special Access Stonehenge Tour with Astral Travels. They have a choice of Sunrise or Sunset tours and we chose the Sunrise. They picked us up at our hotel at 5:45am in a comfortable mini-bus. Our tour guide Louise was very pleasant and informative. After stopping at a roadside stop for coffee and breakfast, we proceeded to Stonehenge (about an hour's drive outside of London). Being able to take pictures of Stonehenge before visiting hours was key. Astral lets everyone take pictures of the stones before walking into them so that you get great shots of Stonehenge minus any people. Then they allow you to spend an hour walking amongst the stones while Louise explained some of the more pertinent aspects of the site. Champagne toast afterwards and then off to a short stop in Salisbury. All in all, it was a spectacular experience. We were back in London by 1:30pm. Highly recommended!

We purchased Special Access tickets to Stonehenge directly from English Heritage. It was a wonderful experience. We went in March 2006 and there were about 20 people there. The tickets are 12 GBP each.

I spent three weeks in Peru and visited areas from the Amazon, amazing, to the Nazca Lines. We stayed at the "Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel" at the base of Machu Picchu...a 4 star hotel spa that was unbelievable! So worth the splurge!!

I guess I'm going to add all the 7 wonders of the world to my list.

Altitude can be an issue. Cuzco is a good nearby town to spend the night acclimatingg before taking on an ambitious hike in Machu Picchu.

No spectacular scenery, but this National Historic Site will make you cry. If you care about human rights and racism, this is your monument. The cemetery is the highlight. Ansel Adams thought so too. One of the few places where you can stand where Adams did and see the view he shot, still unchanged.

Lots of real history, beautiful museum and outstanding monuments. A beautiful place to walk and think.

Make sure you get your FREE passes online prior to going. They sell out often.

When Arriving at the memorial: Please enter at the corner of Albany and Greenwich Streets (1 Albany Street for GPS directions). We strongly suggest you plan to arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled reservation, as it is unlikely that we will be able to accommodate late arrivals. All visitors and baggage are subject to security screening. Since there is limited parking near the 9/11 Memorial, we recommend you take public transportation.
